I’ve been working in professional sports for 7 years, specifically the MLB with the Angels. If you had asked me 10 years ago how much I knew about baseball, I probably would have told you the plot to ‘The Sandlot.’ Nowadays, I’m a little more knowledgable. I grew up in southern California playing ice hockey, so even though I didn’t know the ins and outs of baseball (there are three by the way) I knew what it was like to be a part of a competitive team. I also think approaching a sport that is steeped in tradition with a fresh set of eyes has its benefits.

Outside of hockey, I’ve played in bands, I always have a movie or show playing in the background, and if I don’t have Photoshop open I’m probably playing a video game. Having so many interests outside the realm of my day to day job keeps my eyes open to a wider variety of design. I think that paired with always wanting to learn more has helped me become a better designer.
