With 162 regular season games there’s no shortage of projects to keep busy with, so there isn’t always time to make a motion graphic when a static one will get the job done; which is why I wanted to dedicate space to some of the projects that did end up turning into motion graphics. These range from in-stadium marketing ads, to fun one-off holiday posts that went up on all the socials, and everything in between.

2002 Replay

In 2020 while the season was postponed, the MLB was showing old broadcasts to give fans some content. I wanted to create a title card that could be used on social before old highlights. I used the font that the Angels were using in 2002 and made this rewind graphic.

5,000 wins

This was made in 2024 when the Angels won their 5,000th game. The Media department wanted to make sure the original structure for the Big A was included to add to the historical feeling of the moment.

’70s weekend: Jaws

I made this graphic based on another classic for ’70s Throwback Weekend. I played off the iconic ‘Jaws’ poster while sneaking in a glimpse of the promo item the Angels were giving away. I also made alternate versions of this that included the date as a way to get more use out of the graphic and let fans know about the event.

’70s weekend: pong

Angels had a ’70s Throwback Weekend so I made some bumpers to be used in-stadium on the boards. This graphic plays off Pong.

Series Promotion

The Freeway Series happens once a season, and because the rivalry is so big, it’s definitely something the marketing department wanted to promote. This graphic ran in-stadium during the home games leading up to the series.

Star wars weekend

This was made as a bumper for the in-stadium boards during Star Wars Weekend. The Millennium Falcon was provided by Lucasfilm. I masked it out going around the A logo and added in the halo saber effect.

Ticket Package

There are always ticket offers during the season, and this one in particular was in partnership with Coca-Cola. This graphic is another one that would have run in-stadium to bring awareness to the offer.

Ducks Night Merch

Once a season there is a collaboration with our friends on the other side of the freeway, the Anaheim Ducks. This graphic ran in-stadium to promote the new merchandise.

Halloween Bumper

This was used as an end card after a video segment that ran on all of the Angels social platforms.

Halloween Graphic

I had been working on a doodle look for a potential graphic in the future, but the Social team liked it so I turned it into a fun “Halo-Ween” graphic.

Home RUn Graphic

Some seasons I’d make a generic home run graphic that would be used for every player, but this year I ended up making custom graphics for all the players. They all followed this look but incorporated different cutouts.

Social segment

Another social segment needed a quick intro to set it apart, so the task fell to me. I wanted this particular graphic to feel like a game show while also sticking close enough to the social look for the season.

anniversary logo

2021 marked the 60th season for the Angels. During the season this graphic ran during the games along with some fan-focused videos.

Angels Autofill

This was used as a title card for a social segment.

Angels Magazine

This is another in-stadium graphic that ran durning home games. This was the first year that the Angels Magazine was going to be primarily digital, so I was tasked with making that obvious to fans that had become accustomed to the print version.

Thanksgiving post

Instead of leaning into all the traditional food people might think of for Thanksgiving, I wanted to lean into the parade. This was designed to loop so fans could enjoy the never ending parade.

christmas post

A simple animation for a social Christmas post. The Angels might be from southern California, but that doesn’t mean fans don’t still like a classic snowman and some snow.

stat update

I made this for the Social team during the All-Star game voting stage. They wanted a graphic that would highlight some of Trout’s stats. I can neither confirm nor deny that this is the graphic that got him the votes he needed.
